Menu Planning
Gerwick and Associates, LLC provides a wide range of seasonal and customized menus to offer clients high quality meals. Our support of your menu does not end when the menus are prepared for you. Our office staff is just a phone call away to offer support and assistance.
All Menus (except Group Home) may be used for nursing homes, assisted living, facilities, independent living, and hospitals depending on your needs. Options include:
Non-Selective I
Menus are written utilizing the point system.
Menu is changed twice a year. Large and small portions.
Calculated Menu:
Four-week cycle provides 1800 Calorie, Consistent Carbohydrate Heart Healthy, 2 Gram Sodium, Mild Soldium, Pureed, Soft/Mechanical Soft, Bland diet, fat restricted and Renal diets.
OR
Liberalized Menu
Four-week cycle menu provides diets in a liberalized format: Consistent, Carbohydrate, Renal, Heart Healthy, Pureed, Soft/Mechanical soft.
Both calculated and liberalized menus include menu support documents.
Non-Selective II
Menus are written utilizing the point system.
Menu is changed three times a year. Large and small portions.
Three-week cycle provides all levels of Dysphagia Diets. Carbohydrate Counting, Finger Foods, 2 Gram Sodium, 1800 Calorie and 1500 Calorie. Instructions for No Added Salt, Cardiac, Bland, plus Large and Small portions are included. Menu support documents are included.
Selective I
Menus are written utilizing the point system.
Menus are changed three times per year.
Four-week cycle allows clients to choose selective entree and vegetable at the noon meal; non-selective evening meal. Menu support documents are included. Diets include regular, mild sodium restriction, soft, mechanical soft, limited concentrated sweets, bland, low fat, and large and small portions.
Selective II
Menus are written utilizing the point system.
Menu is changed three times per year.
Four-week cycle allows clients to choose lunch items from the two entrees, two vegetables, two salads, and one desert. Dinner offers one type of soup and a choice of entree. Menu support documents are included. Diets include regular, mild sodium restriction, soft, mechanical soft, limited concentrated sweets, bland, low fat, and large and small portions.
Exchange Menu
Menus are written utilizing the point system.
Menu is changed twice a year
Five-week menu utilizes exchanges for 1800, 1500, and 1200 Calorie diets. Also includes 2 Gram Sodium, Pureed and Soft/Mechanical Soft diets. Instructions are written for No Added Salt, Mild Sodium Restriction, Bland, Limited Concentrated Sweets, Fat Restricted, Small and Large Portions. Menu support documents are included.
Group Home
Menus are written utilizing the point system.
Menu is changed three times per year.
Family-style meals
Three-week cycle created for individuals living in a community or group home setting. Diets include regular, soft, mechanical soft, pureed, mild sodium, low cholesterol, bland, fat restricted, limited concentrated sweets, 1200 calorie, large and small portions. Includes grocery purchasing guides and utilizes our unique group home cookbook.
Brown-bag lunches
Menus are planned to include a sack lunch options. A hot lunch option is also included planned Monday through Friday.
Head Start
Menus are written utilizing the point system.
Menu is changed three times per year.
Five week cycle (Monday through Friday). Follows Kansas State Child Food Program Guidelines. For ages 1 and 2, 3 through 5 years. Includes breakfast, lunch and afternoon snacks. 1 week of sack lunch menus are included for summer outings. Purchasing guides and nutrient analysis are included
